Background:
 
 
Born and bred in South Africa during 1999, Protech Training (PT) has an in-depth understanding of the needs of the unemployed and unskilled people in South Africa. Government objectives and general development in South Africa is our priority. The participation of communities, industry, government and sponsors is continuously sought to ensure a holistic training approach.
 
 
During 2002/3 Protech Training completed a basic skills program for the Sasol Temane Pande natural gas project in rural Vilankulos (Mozambique) where PT successfully mobilized trainers, equipment and tools to an area that had no infrastructure, supplies or skills. In a period of one year, 600 learners were trained and Sasol employed all students.
 
 
During 2004 Protech Training provided 136 learnerships and five incubator centres to the National Skills Fund project "Shintsha" that focused on cost effective space saving furniture manufacturing. The program was highly successful and recognised by the government as a benchmark project for future development in SA.
 
 
Accreditation for products was obtained in 2005 followed by a number of learnerships.
 
 
The focus during the past years after 2005 was on provision of skills programs to assist with the need in the SA economy. Training courses were provided across the country by taking the training to the people. Short courses as well as learnerships were provides locally in communities where the need was high.
 
 
Skills training such as electrical house wiring, welding, appliance repair, handyman, and new business venture creation formed part of the expansion of our products. The highest quality training provision was ensured by sourcing highly qualified staff.
 
 
During 2006 regional dealerships were established some of which are still functioning as independent businesses. Protech Training entered into development partnerships with selected individuals who were nationally deployed and coached to run their own successful training businesses.
 
 
In 2008 Protech Training moved into the new training centre which was accredited by the ESETA in May 2009. Protech Training increased its membership base in order to expand the business into a growth phase which would take us onto national and international territory.
 
 
Our current main business objective is the upgrading our training centre to a fully fledged Trade Test Centre by end of July 2009. The Centre is focused on providing the highest quality and standard of critical skills provision in South Africa.
 
 
Protech Training has been accredited as an FET by the ESETA, and we are working towards grading as a Centre of Excellence of national repute and standing. This learning institution will provide trade testing and government identified scarce and critical skills. The intention is to work in close collaboration with the SA government as well as non-governmental organisations and smaller private companies.
 
 
Protech Training CC has entered into an agreement with Protech Training Skills Solutions CC, with Linda Nkosi as Managing Director. Protech Training Skills Solutions is the daughter company which we are nurturing and empowering by availing all our current intellectual property, market credibility and facilities to Protech Training Skills Solutions in order to assist them to establish itself as a independent highly credible company whose mission is to source providers of scarce and critical skills training.
 
 
As we have been established as a service provider with the highest quality training products, we plan to make available our training materials to new and emerging training service providers.
